Adventure Theatre MTC offers Tuition Assistance for Academy classes and programs. ATMTC understands the importance of arts education, training, and creative outlets for young people and is committed to providing financial assistance in various forms for our students. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact our Registrar for assistance.

ATMTC Merit Based Awards

Merit based awards are received based on a student's artistic abilities, talent and dedication to the art form.

Diane Hamilton and Richard Hartzell Ensemble Scholarship

The Diane Hamilton and Richard Hartzell Ensemble Merit Award is named after ATMTC’s Artistic Associate Emeritus, Diane Hamilton and MTC’s founder, Richard Hartzell. Recipients of this award are presented exclusively to current members of the ATMTC Student Ensembles. Award monies are reserved for and may only be used towards continued training at ATMTC Academy, or to be used towards college tuition, should a rising senior receive the honor. Recipients are announced at ATMTC’s Annual SPOTLIGHT performance.

 

ATMTC MERIT/Assistance AWARDS

Merit/Assistance awards are received based on an equal combination of two factors:

a. A student’s artistic abilities, talent and dedication to the art form; as well as
b. A student and family's financial record.

Michael J. Bobbitt Minority Musical Theater Training Scholarship

Founded in 2012 and named after our Producing Artistic Director, this scholarship is awarded to talented and dedicated musical theater students of ethnic minority populations who also require financial assistance. Scholarships may only be used towards core training classes at ATMTC Academy.

ATMTC Academy Scholarship

ATMTC Academy awards scholarships to talented and dedicated musical theater and theater students who also require financial assistance. Scholarships may only be used towards core training classes at ATMTC Academy.

Madeline Peeler Scholarship- Due April 1, 2014

The Madeline Peeler Summer Musical Theater Camp Scholarship provides financial assistance for students to participate in our SMTC camp in Glen Echo Park. This scholarship is named in honor of a treasured longtime friend of ATMTC, who was an avid believer in cultivating new generations of artists and life-long audience members.

 

Work Study Program

The ATMTC Academy Work-Study Program, planned for introduction in season 2014/15, will be available to prospective and current students aged 14 years and over and will enable high-school aged students to offset the costs of ATMTC Academy courses by working part-time (up to 8 hours per week) during the academic year. The monies earned from a work-study placement will serve as a credit and may only be used towards ATMTC Academy classes and programs.

 

Application Deadlines/Important Information

Application Deadlines for 2013/14:

 

For Fall determination: Applications must be postmarked no later than
Friday, August 9, 2013.

For Spring determination: applications must be postmarked no later than
Thursday, January 2, 2014.

All applications must contain all required materials. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated and be returned to you. Please read all applications requirements carefully and submit completed packets only.

Financial Aid recipients will be notified by telephone or email by a member of our Scholarship Committee before the start of Fall Classes on September 9, 2013/or Spring classes on February 2, 2014.

Scholarship recipients and parents are required to sign a contract detailing student responsibilities. Failure to comply with contract requirements will result in loss of award.
