PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM: FALL CABARET

Featuring Pre-Professional Program Students

All shows will be held at ATMTC in Glen Echo Park

The Pre-Professional Program prepares committed and gifted musical theater students in grades 4-12 for college and/or a professional career.  The Fall Cabaret is the culmination of each student’s music, voice and solo work.  Students will perform songs from popular and Broadway repertoire which showcase technique and performances skills.  Come and see Broadway’s future stars.

INTO THE WOODS JR.

Featuring ATMTC Academy Students in Grades 6 - 12

A baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse and wind up changed forever.

Based on Magic Tree House #1: Dinosaurs Before Dark by Mary Pope

While exploring one afternoon, Jack and Annie discover a tree house full of books: Jack looks through a book about dinosaurs and wishes he could see a real one. Suddenly the wind begins to blow and the tree house starts to spin wildly. When it finally stops, Jack and Annie open their eyes to find they have been transported back to the time of the dinosaurs!

 

ACADEMY VOICE SHOWCASE

Featuring ATMTC Academy Students in Private Voice*
Sunday, May 3, 2015 (7:30pm)

 

Tickets are $5

All shows will be held at ATMTC in Glen Echo Park

The voice recital is the culmination of each student’s vocal studies at ATMTC Academy.  Students will perform songs from popular and Broadway repertoire. 

*At the time of the showcase, students must have been enrolled for at least 16 weeks to be eligible to participate.

 

ACADEMY ACTING SHOWCASE: AS YOU LIKE IT (ABRIDGED)

Featuring ATMTC Academy Students enrolled in Level III Actor’s Workshop*
Sunday, May 17, 2015 (8:00pm)

All shows will be held at ATMTC in Glen Echo Park

All the World’s a Stage! As You Like It (abridged) is a one-hour condensed studio version of the famous Shakespeare play: Unable to act on their feelings and forced into exile in the Forest of Arden, lovers Rosalind and Orlando become entangled in a beguiling game of love and mistaken identity.

*This showcase serves as the culmination of the Level III Acting Workshop.

High kicks, top hats, flaps and glitz.  This fantastic revue of classic and contemporary Broadway showstoppers, featuring the singing and dancing of the enormously talented ATMTC Pre-Professional Program.  Broadway’s rising stars are in the Spotlight!

 

ACADEMY DANCE SHOWCASE

Featuring ATMTC Academy Students in enrolled in Dance Classes*
Saturday, May 23, 2015 (5 pm)

All shows will be held at the
JCC of Greater Washington

The dance showcase is the culmination of student’s work in Dance Classes at the ATMTC Academy.  Students will perform repertoire choreographed to showcase technique and performances skills.  Come and see Broadway’s future stars.

*At the time of the showcase, students must have been enrolled for two concurrent semesters to be eligible to participate.
