Founded in 1951, a group of parents, guardians, and their children established Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) to address an unmet need for high-quality, affordable professional theatre experiences for youth in the D.C. region. Now, 75 years later, ATMTC is the longest-running Theatre for Young Audiences in the area, reaching over 30,000 people every year.
In April 2026, ATMTC received dedicated funding from the State of Maryland to renovate the Glen Echo theatre and lobby spaces. The $250,000 bond initiative from the State will cover:
In anticipation of the 2026/27 season, ATMTC’s 75th Anniversary, we are kicking off a matching campaign for the capital funding. The 75th Anniversary Matching Campaign aims to raise an additional $250,000 from now until August 2027 to support the productions and programming that have reached six generations of the DMV community.
